In-depth guides to every corner of Albania — from coastal riviera to alpine valleys
Albania is one of Europe's most rewarding and underrated destinations — a country of dramatic contrasts, extraordinary hospitality, and landscapes that span from the turquoise Ionian coast to alpine peaks. These guides are designed to help you get the most out of every destination, whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned expat.
A vibrant, colourful capital undergoing a remarkable transformation. From the Blloku café scene to the National History Museum, Tirana rewards exploration at every turn.
Crystal-clear Ionian waters, dramatic cliffs, and whitewashed villages. Stretching from Vlorë to Sarandë, the Riviera is Albania's most breathtaking coastline.
A hauntingly beautiful stone city built into the mountainside. Home to a 12th-century castle, the birthplace of Enver Hoxha, and one of Albania's most atmospheric old bazaars.
The "city of a thousand windows" — a perfectly preserved Ottoman town cascading down a hillside. Berat's ancient neighbourhoods of Mangalem and Gorica are unlike anywhere else in Europe.
Albania's cultural capital and gateway to the north. Set beside the stunning Lake Shkodër — Europe's largest lake — with Rozafa Castle rising dramatically above the city.
Remote, wild, and staggeringly beautiful. The Valbona–Theth trail is one of Europe's great hikes, cutting through peaks that rival the Swiss Alps in drama.
